Avatar gets better each time I watch it. Ahead of its time, even still. Does not seem like a film that was released 6 years ago.

I'm dumbfounded by how forgotten it feels. I've barely seen or heard any references to it since 2010.

It only did so because of James Cameron and the HUGE hype surrounding it. Avatar 2 might do well by riding off the hype of the first one but the third one will probably do awfully

6 years already and still no sequel, James Cameron is going for that nostalgia factor when Avatar 2 releases in 2018

It's one of the five most liked movies on Facebook too. A strange metric, but I think a telling one.

Definitely didn't deserve it. I remember when everyone was talking about it and were saying things along the lines of "Oh my gosh, I was NOT prepared for the ending!" and being utterly let down by such a predictable story-line. It was so generic.

Yes.... It´s an amazing movie. The plot is very predictable tbh. But the movie effects and technology involved... God. It was like heaven for science fiction fans.

It's barely even mentioned now, it didn't even have a 100th part of the impact Titanic had. People were waiting in line for hours to rewatch it, almost 20 years later it's still quoted and it will remain a milestone in the history of modern cinema.
