Okay, hear me out. I'm wondering in your opinion, whether gay men or lesbian women are more accepted by society.

I read an interesting comment on Ingrid Nelson's video, a Youtuber who recently came out, about how there was more hate on her video, than male counterparts who also came out on Youtube.



Clearly the like to dislike ratio is much greater in Ingrid's video, one of the first female mainstream Youtubers to come out.


HOWEVER, people could argue that straight men find lesbians attractive and get turned on by them.
Do you feel one is more supported than the other?

Feminine gay men have become very accepted by younger (straight) females in modern times and as much as I hate to say it are considered 'trendy' while it's not really the same for lesbians, straight girls tend to not care about lesbians and neither do gay men really, it's just other lesbians and straight men that only accept them because they get turned on by them. If you're talking in general though it goes feminine lesbian > masculine gay male > feminine gay male > masculine lesbian imo

hmmm.... I am watching her video right now, and the way she came out in the first minute looks so fake lmfao, but it's great she came out! I'm guessing her fanbase are straight girls, and unlike Joey and those other gays, she doesn't look like steriotypical lesbian, so most people wouldn't never guessed.

I would say that lesbians aren't taken as seriously as gay men. Its seen as a phase, same way people think bisexual men don't exist. Because clearly if you don't like d*ck, something is wrong with you

In Western society as a whole, lesbians are more accepted. Society is still very patriarchal, and men think it's hot for women to do stuff with each other.

Obviously, lesbians still face their own hatred/persecution, they're not wholly accepted, but it's certainly not as much as what gay men face.

I think it's lesbians but I'm not sure, some people kind of forget same-sex relationships aren't just between two men.

Every homophobic person I know always attacks gay relationships and barely acknowledges lesbian relationships so for that reason I think gays are less accepted.

Using video likes/dislikes to measure which sexual orientation is more accepted seems kind of... useless. People maybe disliked the video by the things the person said/did or has done on previous videos or simply because they just didn't like something about the video? Then again, I haven't seen any of those videos... there are just many things that could make someone dislike a video.

I don't feel like any one gender is more supported than the other. Gay women are obviously seen as sexual tools by some straight men, but I don't think that translates to them being more accepted by society. People who are really against homosexuals see it as something bad regardless of gender.

Lesbians are 'gays' too. Your question should be 'More accepted: gay men or gay women?'
Gay men are more accepted overall due to them having a greater/larger representation in the mass media.
Lesbians are arguably more accepted by straight men only if they're conventionally attractive/sexy. And, although I love my lesbian friends to death and admire their loyalty, very few fit the standards of what straight men fap over in ****os.
