According to the leaked contract, Apple pays 58% of its revenue to rightsholders while Spotify pays approximately 70% of its revenue. When they're priced the same (even less per user for Apple's family account) it's really an apples to apples comparison.
It makes sense. Apple has access to nearly a billion users compared to Spotify's 60 million. Of course they would be able to negotiate a lower royalty rate when they have over 50X the potential customers of Spotify.
Of course your fave makes most of their money on touring/endorsements anyway, so does it really matter if one corporation is ****ing another over?

Spotify will keep its loyal members, Apple will steal some of Spotify's audience depending on the layout/appeal of their application and demolish TIDAL even if it is terrible.
