Nah, the 1,500 streams = 1 album is based on the Streaming payout. 1,500 streams is equivalent to the pay of 1 album bought. The only way Billboard is changing the SEA is if the pay rates change. And good thing is, pay rates are only gonna go up. Labels would not let Streaming lower pay rates, or they'd threaten to remove their entire catalogue.
If anything 1,000 streams could equal 1 album in a few years, or 750 streams. I think they'll try to stay with the current rate, but we'll see. These are WW #'s too. It's not like albums will be doing 10M in US for a long long time if that ever happens again.
