Watching tv growing up. A lot of shows were in English with subtitles so that's how I learned English.
And school of course.

ATRL taught me Middle English vocabulary ("sistrens") as well as contemporary colloquial terms ("to clock", "to snach someone's wig"). When will American movies?

This is show we usually speak and most of my teachers can barely speak better than that (except the ones teaching English of course)
