And there are ethnic groups who have been oppressed yet still may not be accepting towards LGBT people, bottom line is humans are hypocrites. ATRL needs to stop this mentality that all gays are racist or transphobic. Stop using comments online from a select amount of people as a reason to group an entire community as racist, transphobic, etc. Go out in the real world and judge people as individuals.

They're not hurtful to the men that fulfill those stereotypes. What about the latin men who are not crazy and wild and just like calm love-making? Or the black men who were not blessed with 27 inch dicks? Or the black men who are not big, buff, raging tops? I can't tell you how many times guys have assumed I was an "aggressive top" and did nothing to hide their disappointment in me being a submissive versatile. Or like when the show Looking addressed the stereotype that all latin men had "big uncut *****" and Richie wasn't having the ignorance.

For the betterment of our community, we should all just assume the default when it comes to these things. Treat people like individual humans and no more lumping everyone into categories for your ease of use.

But racial discrimination and discrimination against sexual orientation are different. You can still be given equal rights for your orientation and still be a racist. At the end of the day, it's going back to the over-arching issue of racism in all communities. So unless there's some kind of "special racism" going on in the LGBT community that needs to be researched, I don't really see the point.

Oop. There's actually some truth in this tbh. The world hates blacks and browns equally. But I think the point is that, the LGBT community should know better than to be racist because they are also an oppressed minority group (and vice versa for the black community and LGBTs). It would be the same as if the majority of women were homophobic. Like, we're all oppressed by cis straight white men, so why not werk together instead of hating on each other and furthering stereotypes about the other group?

The same could be said of the minorities but yall can't ever have peace if everyone's mudslinging trying to dirty the other minorities because of reasons.

I agree with you (hence why I said "and vice versa with blacks and LGBTs).

That's why these surveys exist though, to raise awareness of the problem so that well-meaning members of these groups can check themselves. If you're gonna claim you don't see a point in surveys like this highlighting the LGBT community's racism, then by transitive property, you also have to decry similar surveys highlighting the homophobia in the black community. These surveys don't exist to make white gays (or black people) feel like terrible humans. They exist to open our eyes and bring awareness to the plight of our fellow minorities, so that we can ALL better ourselves as a community.

The fact of the matter is that there IS lots of racism in the LGBT community, and there IS a lot of homophobia in the black community, and there IS a disturbing amount of people within both of these oppressed communities that do not believe any of these facts. Those people need to wake up.
