I love how this is all about white men. It says gay community, but it only talks about white people...? As if other races, or subsets of people, don't have ignorant thoughts, or incorrect presumptions, and are perfect humans. I mean, them believing ALL white gay men are racist is no better than those others generalising stereotypes from the white people polled.
The whole objectified/sexualised stuff is also a minefield. It's damned if you-damned if you don't. You approach them, you're potentially objectifying someone. If you turn them down, or don't try, it must be because you're racist. That's so dangerous to throw around. Not everyone is into you. Nobody owes you an explanation for being into you. Same goes for me. People don't reply to me. I move on. They're not for me. I'll find another who is.
Aren't most people in a club - regardless of their race - objectified too? Like most people (gay, or straight) go to a club to hook up with someone nameless. And at the end of the day, every "community" is racist. Sadly. I never understand why the gay one being like every other community is somehow more scandalous. Racism isn't a gay issue. Why do people mix the two, as if that will find a solution? It only makes the water more muddy.
