My fave has sold some 40M digital singles in the U.S. That's $8M, not including songwriting/production credits. I don't think that's a bad amount when it's only one of so many factors
What I've been saying.. your fave might be Hot on the charts but believe that they're poor in comparison with Bey, Madge, Gaga, who apparently are flops in the single department. The only female smart enough to excel in most areas is Taylor.
So when Apple bumped the price from $.99 to $1.29, did they increase the amount that went to the label, to the artist, to the songwriter, or to themselves? Or did each party's profit increase?
It's not a bad amount. Most pop girls co-write/write their songs so they're getting 29c a download.
Take for example, Dark Horse. Around 6 million sold in the US & she co-wrote it, so she got roughly $1,740,000 from that song alone, not including streams, just from US sales alone.

She can get 8 million with one deal with Pepsi or Coca Cola, keep in mind at least 3 million get cut by Taxes
