Just to be clear: I don't support their current politics, the apartheid situation that they have created, or any of the violence that plagues the region at the moment. My statement was simply addressing the rabid antisemitism that existed for centuries, which is the main reason why the ethnic group known as "Jewish" needed to have a state of their own.

That the U.S. and the European powers that were involved in the creation of Israel used faulty logic and did not think about the potential conflict that would follow is a separate story, which has nothing to do with the main topic of this thread.
