What are some of your favorite video game genres? There are tons of them, some more broad and encompassing, and some more niche, but all have something to offer. My personal favorites are:

Action/RPG (Diablo II being a great example)
Fighting/Beat 'Em Up (Mortal Kombat )
Action Rhythm (DDR/Elite Beat Agents type of stuff)

As a bonus, my least favorite is FPS, and not because they're popular. I don't like them because I suck so bad at them, and I'll admit it. I feel like the learning curve is pretty steep, and the community within most shooters aren't...new user-friendly, so to speak. You really can only practice in campaign mode, which is basically an after thought in most modern shooters, since most people buy the latest installments and hop right online.

ANYWAY, what about you guys?

FPS mainly..
Then hack and slash + survival horror… then somewhere lies RPG's (although two of my favorite series are RPG's, I just don't like the genre as a whole.)

Ex:
FPS - Halo. Half Life, Deus Ex
Hack and slash - Ninja Gaiden, The Witcher kinda counts here too
Survival Horror - Alien: Isolation, Dead Space, Bioshock
RPG: Dark Souls, The Witcher, Final Fantasy

I used to be pretty good at FPS but I haven't played in awhile.

Probably RPGs though.

Definitely RPGs - both western and Japanese.

Fighting: DOA, Street Fighter, Tekken, MK, SoulCalibur, MvC, etc. It's goes on and on. It's the genre I always have fun playing.
RPGs: Square Enix RPGs mainly. I rarely venture outside of them, and when I do, I'm not satisfied. But, I'm always willing to try new ones…
Rhythm Games: DDR was my ****, but Project Diva is that new-new! Addicted! Absolutely addicted!!!

RPGs particularly JRPGs.

Stardom - some game from Taiwan that you play as a manager, and you manage 4 stars and make them successful and famous. You get to make them a singer, movie star, tv show star, or all of them at once. Each year there's award show, and each week there's chart for music, movie and Tv Shows. And Much more stuff (Really fun, sadly it's only in Chinese)

I can play a lot of games tho, i love Super Smash, Mario Kart. Bioshock Infinite was so good.

The only ones i dont really like are soccer games, and zombie games even tho dead island was great, but it was because it wasnt that dark and scary lol
