She overreacted, but I understand when your wedding ring is basically worth the sandwich it's on. When it's presented in that manner no diamond in the world would be worth more than the burger it's on.

I can see why she’s upset, everyone wants the typical fairytale proposal, he tried to do something personal and kinda ****ed up, but she ****ed up even more. If she truly loves him it wouldn’t matter how he proposed she should say yes almost instantaneously, love does not boast, it is humble. If I were the guy I would’ve dumped her then and there.

And that's why she will end up alone. Instead of recognizing what the gesture means, that this man is giving her his unconditional love for the rest of his life, that she means the world to him and that he wants them to share their lives and grow old together, she focuses on her idyllic fantasy proposal and is disappointed that it's not exactly what she envisioned. She is already evaluating things from a superficial perspective, and will likely do that with the rest of her relationship, which will inevitably lead to it to fail.

The man clearly put thought into that and it was very cute, yes it might not be the most glamorous way of proposing to someone, but surely if you loved them you wouldn't care how or where you got proposed to... Shouldn't you be overwhelmed that your partner is basically saying "I want to spend the rest of my life with you", while doing it in a VERY cute way, they had their first date at McDonalds for god sake.

That's cute and all but most people don't see the sentiment in being proposed to at MCDONALDS, and being completely caught off guard like that doesn't help. The fact that she joked to him about the idea of being proposed at McDonalds should've been sign enough to him that it wasn't a good idea.

Just because she turned down his proposal doesn't mean she'll end up alone, and idk why you're so bothered by her reaction either

proposal and marriage is something women are allowed to be superficial about, that's one of the largest moment's in a woman's life where she gets to be the center of attention whereas it's not as big of a deal to men.
