I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with my song next. Everyone has pretty much said something different than the next person I really like my song though, and I hope the judges do too
Everyone works a different way tbh. But I never touch a piece of paper and a pen until I have a full concept in my mind. So, I start thinking about my concept, no brainstorming or anything, just letting ideas flow and marinate, and then, a few hours before the deadline I try to execute the concept that speaks to me the most.
Honestly I'm not going to pretend like I was thinking about my song before I started it. Really I just didn't normally have time before Thursday nights to start my songs. If you want to not win like me you can use this approach!

I almost always do the first concept that comes to mine, I start writing as soon as I can. I do use little phrases that I come up with throughout daily life that I keep in my notepad to help jump start my songs though, that's always nice.
I really like my song though, and I hope the judges do too
