They have to release another album. MY guess is that the break will be good promo because their fans will be hyped for their final album, after which they'll be done forever.

i don't see them lasting much longer. i guess they made as much money as they could. also, i don't see any of them being successful with a solo career.
Yeah, as others have gotten at, they've been under an album-a-year contract since 2011 and this is the last album in the deal. Anyone could have seen this coming from a mile away. They'll probably break up, honestly.
