I think you guys are doing a little too much. I believe them and think he did it because of the way they grew up. So sheltered. No sex education whatsoever. When your child admits something this horrible to you and you talk about it with an implied understanding that it won't happen again, and you have talks about it with the affected sisters, one would expect it not to happen again. What do you think their first instinct is going to be: push for their own teenage son to be put in prison?

Yes, because you never did anything stupid when you were a teenager that you wish was in the past. Obviously this is a little more extreme, but still. And just because they have personal views on homosexuality that are based on their religion, it doesn't mean they're "victimizing" gays.

No one is defending this with mental illness excuse? I clearly said he's in the wrong either way but I don't think it was out of complete malice like actual molesters.

Someone tells me they've been inappropriately touching a child and I will do everything in my power to keep them separated. Those "guards" they put up didn't do ****. Why would they even think that would work? He's a 15 year old not a baby that you're trying to stop from climbing out of his crib at night. They should have gotten him help the very first time and kept him away from those girls the FIRST time. Josh is bigger and stronger than his sisters and a lot worse could have happened.

It's pure hypocrisy - would the Duggars allow other people who've made this "mistake" the chance for similar rehabilitation? And why isn't Josh Duggar speaking for himself? He's a grown man, why is it we're only hearing his parents' voices in all of this?

Lena Dunham got a pass on this. She didn't get the controversy, and she literally bragged about molesting her sister. Her show is still on the air. No one batted an eyelash. In fact, Duggar is getting MORE criticism just because of the fact that he and his family are devout Christians.

So suddenly because Lena Dunham got away with it (and not that it makes much difference but Lena Dunham was 7, Josh Duggar was 14/15), Josh Duggar should be as well?
This is an incident that was NOT dealt with - this is an incident of rape minimization and blatant child abuse. Molesting kids is not a "mistake", molesting kids is a CRIME. It's a crime that Josh Duggar has, even now, taken NO responsibility for!
If this is a "mistake", then Josh should have no problem coming forward and confessing the truth. The fact remains that all the Duggars did was sweep this under the rug to protect Josh and turned to the method of HIDE EVERYTHING to deal with a serious issue and in doing so, they put their kids at risk. THAT'S called child abuse, that's called neglect.

EDIT: I also highly doubt that when he 'fessed up' to his parents that he told the real story. He likely hid details about what he did, and made it seem better than what it was.

As I said, he doesn't live with them. Secondly, he's not a pedophile for what he did 12 years ago with his similarly-aged sisters.
And when did they accuse gays of being pedophiles? I'm not saying they didn't, but I just want to know if this is an actual thing or you're just making stuff up.
