I have just realized how mind-numbingly awful this is. I think I was just lying to myself the past month but no, there are virtually no redeeming qualities.
As a fan since "Lucky" days, it's sad that the girl who used to deliver the BEST pop music is now giving us possibly the worst. Simply tragic tbh. At this point in her career I imagined her having transitioned into the Sheryl Crowe/Natalie Imbruglia type music that she was originally supposed to do, even maybe with a country tinge. "Girl Crush" would have made an amazing Britney single. But instead we get soulless, dumb music that has the excitement and passion of the boardroom meeting where it was surely conceived....it's so sad.
I still love the song and I'm going to continue to support it It's not like her career depends on this one single but any and all success it finds just adds to her overall success.
