Yes, you absolutely have the right to choose who you want to sleep with, but the fact is that if you have to filter out a person because of their race, that is racist.

I would not "filter" or "rule" them out" for friends, roommates, job opportunities if I were someone in charge .. or anything else

It's just that they are usually / most likely not the type that I'd rather get my face near their body parts. And I'm sure that's not because of their race because even there, I would def. make an exception s if the guy was hot, but that's just very rare.

If that is still racism, then 90% the world is racist ...

But honestly I find it a matter of taste .. You either would like to have sex with people from that race or not, because that skin color, kind of facial structure either appeals to you sexually or not.

Racism does not mean hate

A lot of people are so defensive when they're called out on racism because they think it makes them an angry, hateful person. You don't have to despise a race in order to perpetuate racism.

If you rule out sexual activity with a group of people simply because of their race, or you "prefer," not to be with them because of their race then that is a racist preference.

Racism doesn't always have to be malicious and explicit.
It can be as simple as filtering out Blacks and Asians on Jack'd in favor of Whites and Latinos.

The LGBT community is REALLY racist (and it's not just towards blacks) and they think they can get away with it because they're also oppressed. I would argue that most people have racist mindsets in some form or another.

That doesn't necessarily make them bad people. For instance, in the United States we live in a racist society, so it's not an outlandish claim that many of the people who live in this society will have racist thoughts
(and that can be argued for many other countries).

I think too many people in general often have issues having empathy or sympathy for people that aren't like themselves (the only large scale exception being people of minority groups that have had no choice but to adjust their norms to that of the majority and even then that only tendsto be extended to those
members of the base majority) and that's the true root of the problem with all of the hatred and oppression causing -isms and -phobias to begin with.

Racism is problematic in general and so is homophobia. I don't quite understand the need for some to single out racists and homophobes of marginalized groups that really don't have the power to oppress to begin with.

Racism is seeing ANY person differently (vanity, exc.) no matter what the topic, treating somebody differently based on skin tone (preference - not into black guys/asian guys/indian guys, exc.).

Well, if gays are oppressed in our society and Blacks (for example) are oppressed in our society, then the intersectionality of being Black and gay means that you'll face an extra ounce of discrimination on both ends because Blacks (for the most part) are inherently homophobic (because of their overzealous belief in a religion that was forced upon their enslaved ancestors by Europeans) and Whites within the gay community tend to have already instilled racist "preferences" and beliefs about other races. It makes it so that Black gays are shunned by both their families and their peers.

I think it's an important conversation to be had.
Although I would argue that people often approach the conversation the wrong way.

Having a preference is okay tho. First you can't be forced to be attracted to someone. You can't be forced to date Asian people if you don't like certain physical characteristics . One thing is not dating with Asian men, other thing is saying you can't be near an Asian guy
