Leona Lewis AND Alesha Dixon snubbed by Radio 1!

Quote:
It’s been reported today that Radio 1 has “snubbed” both Leona Lewis and Alesha Dixon’s new singles after evidently deeming them not good enough to make the station’s playlists.
The Daily Star reports that it’s a “major setback” to Leona, who was hoping to relaunch her career with her new single, Fire Under My Feet.
However, as Alesha – who is of course a judge on Britain’s Got Talent – has irons in other fires, it isn’t as big of an issue to her, but nonetheless, it’s perhaps snobbish of the station to refuse to play either of those tracks.
But back to Leona, and the newspaper reports that Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, who’s hotly tipped to be replacing X Factor judge Louis Walsh this year, confessed that he hasn’t even listened to Leona’s new single.
He said, “I’ve not even heard it, to be honest.
“I think she has made some bangers in the past, like Bleeding Love, but I’ve not heard anything new.”
Alesha meanwhile – her new single is entitled, The Way We Are, and it is on Radio 2’s playlists – said, “I’m not worried if I’m seen as a TV personality rather than a pop star.
“I’m just loving performing again.”
But Leona and Alesha can perhaps take heart from the fact that they’re not alone in having been overlooked by Radio 1, given that in the past, Take That, Madonna and Robbie Williams have suffered a similar fate, and it doesn’t seem to have done them much harm does it?
