I understand that, but I don't understand their thought process. We aren't Rome, and there is no evidence to indicate impending doom for modern America or modern society in general. There may have been a correlation in the past, but that (as anyone who has taken a lab or stats class will know) does not imply causation. These are allegedly educated people who should know that society progresses and changes; these are people who are taught within their faith that only their God can judge and that one should respect and honor others.
I just don't get it. It might be general human nature to react harshly toward that which we don't understand, but as educated adults they should kind of be aware of the fact that they don't understand what's going on and have no place to judge.
