Praying it away is not help. Sounds like the girls were sent to actual qualified counselors which is great but he should have been sent to one too. There's Mullet's favorite story from her scandalous teenage years—before she found Jim Boob and God—about the time she "defrauded" (in Gothard-speak: to cause a person to think or behave in an impure manner) a neighbor while mowing the lawn... in a bikini — the man later divorced his wife!

There's the kids' favorite slogan "NIKE!" which is shouted when the family encounters a less-than-righteous person — usually an immodestly dressed woman. When the kids hear this call, they know to avert their eyes towards their shoes (their "Nikes") and pray that a fiery pit consumes the offender.

There's the fact that their grown children are chaperoned, usually by another family member, on "dates" (timed and closely monitored excursions for the courting couple), and are expressly forbidden to have any real physical contact. Premarital sex is obviously out of the question, but so too are premarital kisses, or anything that could be perceived as more intimate than a carefully executed side-hug. An eager Jill was once famously chastised for greeting her fiancé (now husband) home from a long mission trip with a hug that saw her use both arms and make frontal contact.

Jim Boob and Mullet must be implicated to some degree in Josh's offenses by virtue of having espoused any of this nonsense. They've fostered this and endangered their daughters. They should have all children removed from their care. It isn't enough that TLC's pulled the show from their schedule. We must destroy them.
