She also admits that she only got on that show in the first place because of someone she knew and this allowed her to bypass the main audition process. Makes her comment about people in the industry catching breaks due to who they know sound somewhat ironic.
Also she jumped at the chance to tour with Katy Perry, even though that audience is full of people who don't know Country Music or her music at all. Makes her comment 'I’d rather have smaller numbers [of fans] that are really into what I’m doing than a massive amount of people that don’t really know what I’m about.' seem at odds with that decision. Unless she was looking back in hindsight after that experience. Welp!
