Why do members here try to underestimate our knowledge in music? Anytime a young member’s age is brought up everyone acts like they’re dumb. If someone makes a Whitney vs Bey poll and Bey wins it’s “unfair” because there’s too many young voters. I don’t think it’s fair to generalize all of the teenage members and assume that we’re Disney/Nickelodeon and boy band stans, because I know a lot more music than some of the others. I listened to my sister’s CD’s a lot growing up and began to like 90s R&B singers like Toni Braxton, Aaliyah, TLC, Monica, Sade, and Brandy. Instead of watching The Backyardigans and stuff like that I was watching shows like TRL, 106 & Park, and those E! documentaries, so I knew a lot more at than most little kids. When I was a kid I used to stan so hard for girls that weren’t popular at the time like Christina, Kim (

) and others. As a 15 year old I get frustrated when older people say stuff like “teenagers don’t know what good music is". While that may be true for some, it doesn't apply to every teenager.
