Over the years, Tyler, the Creator and his pals were not a group, but a brand. Odd Future, which earned fame through Tyler’s music and their colorful attire, were a staple in just about every teenager’s life in the last couple of years.
However, Tyler has said that is in the past. As you can see from the tweet below, it’s all over.
It’s been apparent that the OF gang have been growing apart over the years, with the biggest two stars, Tyler and Earl Sweatshirt, barely even recognizing each other anymore. It’s not that they’re on bad terms, it’s just an instance of growth for the both of them.
Tyler and Earl have both released albums in 2015, with the pair releasing Cherry Bomb and I Don’t Like S**t, I Don’t Go Outside“, respectively. Both of these albums are extreme contrasts to the immature debut projects that were released in 2009 and 2010. Tyler delves into Indie Rock, with songs like “Find Your Wings” and “2Seater“. Earl has moved from content regarding rape and other illegal activities to dark, lyrical songs about his personal depression and deep issues.
Tyler, Earl, and Frank where the only notable guys in that crew anymore, but its sad to see them gone as one of the few hip hop collectives left in this day and age.
