Are you suggesting society will crumble if gay marriage is not accepted. Which it will be accepted.
Maybe you want a group of people that will flip flop around on their core principles as the political winds shift week by week. I personally would rather then stick to their beliefs until it is overwhelmingly obvious that the change is happening so there is no doubt that it is the will of the people. Sometimes this takes time sometimes it sweeps across the nation like a fire but it's better this way.
Anyone campaigning on marriage equality is blowing smoke up your ass because there is nothing they can do to stop it or make it happen faster. It's in the courts now and it's going to be decided there.
