No, I agree with you. I'm saying I think the final scene of the season will end on the same cliffhanger as Jon's last book chapter but we won't know the overall outcome until next year. He won't truly be dead though, and if he does die he'll be revived in some way. His character is by far the most important to the whole story. Like the series A Song of Ice and Fire literally takes it's name from him. His is the song of ice and fire.

But I feel like Ned and Drogo, for instance, had to die to allow other characters to evolve in the show. Had Ned still been alive, Cersei wouldn't be here. Robb, Sansa, Arya and Lady Catelyn would all have a boring storyline and they'd still be in Winterfell. The same for Dany, if Drogo was still here, she'd be a damn housewife by now lol #BORING

If they kill Cersei, the Faith Militant will have too much and kill every single high lord and lady in Westeros. The High Sparrow might eventually become the king of the seven kingdoms up until Dany lands in King's Landing on Drogo's back (Hizdahr zo Loraq and Daario Naharis riding Viserion and Rhaegal respectively ) followed by Stannis and his army. You know what? This slays, Cersei can die.

There's actually an awesome and pretty well-known Azor Azhai fan-theory which could potentially come true on the show before it's revealed in the books:

Stannis dies in the Battle of Winterfell. Jon is stabbed to death at the wall at around the same time, unbeknownst to Selyse and Melisandre who are at Winterfell with Stannis's host. The two, who believe Stannis to be Azor Azhai, sacrifice Shireen in an attempt to bring Stannis back to life, but they inadvertently revive Jon instead who is the actual Azor Azhai/Prince Who Was Promised all along.

I have every finger and toe crossed in the hopes that this happens. Would be a humongous book spoiler for all of us waiting for Winds of Winter but would be so sick regardless.

I think there are only two endings possible.

Scenario 1
Umwertung Aller Werte - The fall of the kingdoms and establishing of a democracy


Scenario 2
Status Quo Ante - Jon himself a Targaryen weds Daenerys and they rule together Westeros.

Scenario 3:
Dany is dead.
