I told some girl at work that I write pop song and she asked me to sing. I used to be nervous and suddenly I'm singing this song I'm writing called Rollercoaster, and she says that I can actually sing and the song of mine I sung is pretty good.
"Oh my God man, you can actually sing"
I asked her to elaborate and she said that there are people who think they can sing but can't. So she says I can actually sing and that there's no one that she can think of, that's sounds like me / has my kind of voice, which I'm surprised and doubtful by what she says. She also says that I don't look like someone who can sing, to which I thought she was being shady or giving me a backhanded compliment.
I mean, I'm always a bit skeptical when people compliment me because I'm not used to it, so it's always a surprise, but this girl doesn't beat around the bush about anything, so I'd say I can.

My voice has been compared (by various people) to "Tom Waits with throat cancer", "a small child with an extreme case of asthma being viciously stabbed in the neck with a shovel" and "Britney Spears".
Been singing for a long time. Used to do talent shows as a kid and won a few of them but i'm usually scared of posting my covers. I'll post something soon.
