People really and truly don't understand the differences between race, ethnicity and nationality. White is a race, not an ethnicity.
Ethnicity is a cultural based grouping and not racially based; people can be different races and of the same ethnicity (example Hispanic is not a race although it is often used in place of and supercedes race in importance for certain people).
