The kiwi flag looks nice but it's hard to draw, especially that fern leaf. I don't like flags that are hard to draw. Think about the poor kindergartners trying to sketch out that nonsense. I also think it would look much better with blue instead of black. This one is nice, but still hard to draw. I don't see why it needs replacing anyways.

Yes this is beautiful too and I like the coloursore but kiwi is iconic plus black and red are the colours of Maori. Ideally it would be green blue and white tbh with both the fern the southern cross and the kiwi

Maori only make up a small portion of the population though, the flag is for everyone, especially since it's a referendum.
These people lived by a code of non-violence and passive resistance, which made it easier for Taranaki Māori invaders to nearly exterminate them in the 1830s.
