No it's not a trickle down. It's a
percentage. Labels do not pay artists anything, they take a large share of profits. That's bad, but Spotify is the one paying the artist. Even if they get a bigger percentage, it means nothing if Spotify is paying pennies on the dollar.
Artists can't pay off the loan if the label is not getting enough revenue from streams. That's why artists don't like Spotify. TIDAL>>
