Black Eyes Peas #1, Dave Matthews Band and Eminem Duke It Out for #2

The sound you heard is the Black Eyed Peas landing at #1 on next week’s HITS Album sales chart with a total anywhere between 190-215k for their new album, The E.N.D.
Considering how many singles the band has sold, that total has got to be considered a disappointment to record retailers out there who still have their shirts, with most of ‘em presumably gathered in the sunny climes of San Diego for this week’s NARM convention.

Tht's so depresing, the album is such a masterpiece even though i don't like tht much BBP, the rest of the album is so damn good =(, hope the sales be better than tht
I dont know why ya'll are disappointed, i knew they wouldnt sell like 500k like the most of you thought...i am happy with those sales, hope they sell steady, and i am happy that they have their first #1 Album
Yeah, people are acting like this never happens. It's 2009. Sales aren't huge. Lil Wayne's 1,000,000+ was a fluke we most likely will never see again. It's also only the first week. The Dutchess didn't open with great sales, but it stayed consistent and sold nearly 4 million. I expect The E.N.D. to do the same.
Although this is really not a good number if you are comparing it to the success of BBP, this is actually pretty decent for 2009, actually still on the high end.... I mean, not bashing on FloRida or anything, he sold like millions of copies for RR and yet he only manage like what, 50K for the 1st week of his album....
