News: Turkey TV talent show: Woman contestant shot in head

A Turkish woman who has been taking part in a talent show on national TV has been shot in the head while rehearsing at home, Turkish media say.

Mutlu Kaya, 19, was in a critical condition after being shot in Diyarbakir province early on Monday.
Diyarbakir is a conservative region in south-east Turkey and Ms Kaya had reportedly received death threats for singing on the show, Sesi Cok Guzel.

One person has reportedly been arrested in connection with the incident.
The gunman was said to have been in the garden and fired through a window into the house.

I did a bit of research and apparently it could be her own father or someone
from her father's side of the family who shot her because they think that her being
a contestant on the show was damaging their honor or something like that

I live in Turkey and my country is so diffucult to understand

In Istanbul you have millions of different people and you never see someone judging someone else because its so crowded there. Also in Izmir, Antalya and stuff. but then you go to the east of Turkey and everything changes out of no where. Wearing a skirt can be the biggest problem ever for a girl. they call them directly a hoe and some of them even thinks that that girl deserves to have pain. You can't laugh out loud because that will make some people think if we are hoes
