M.I.A. does not exploit other cultures, she is one of the few artists who when using inspiration and ideas from other cultures it is for a purpose and it highlights a certain point.
IE. she wore a burqa around the 'Bad Girls' era and had them in the video with them dragracing, and this was about how women aren't allowed to drive by law in Saudi Arabia.
