I'm surprised people like KK so much. I didn't care for that track at all. My most listened to is that first skit.

To me the downfall with To Pimp a Butterfly was he focused too much on being artistic and making some kind of statement, none of the songs ended up being actual bops. He forgot an Album needs jams, not poetry the entire time.

King Kunta & 2-3 others were cute, but they weren't JAMS. They were replayable for a few weeks.

It's just an album where you have to listen to it in whole each time to get with it, and nobody is doing that in 2015 unless it's straight up filled with jams AND has a theme/central sound (1989, Take Care, 21, etc).

A rap album does not "need" bops. He made an album he felt and that's what makes a GOOD/GREAT rap album. It's not for everybody, but I LIVE.

By bops I moreso meant songs you can listen to stand a lone, songs that can be singles, etc. Artists these days try to make it look bad by making tracks that are catered to be hit singles, but I mean, that's what everybody wants. Nobody is purchasing an album to hear fluent poetry throughout. This is a singles era.

None of the songs are standalone type songs, or could be hits. I don't wanna listen to the entire album to get into the songs. I don't care enough.

TPAB was obviously carefully and passionately conceived and it's obviously a very "accomplished" album. But there was just no visceral response for me at all.

J. Cole's latest album doesn't really have "bops" either, and it has done very well.

Anyways I've seen the BB music video like 5 times already and still want more. This hasn't happen to me with a music video since forever and I'm actually liking the song more and more thanks to the remix!
