Tonight, Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea performed their single “Pretty Girls” for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas. The single is meant to promote Spears’s ongoing residency in that city, and the performance served as an apt advertisement for the pop star’s stage show:
Entertainment Weekly
Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea debuted the video for their smash single “Pretty Girls” earlier this week—and on Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas, the pop stars brought the song to life in all its ’80s-loving, candy-coated flourescence.
Spears delivered one of her most energetic television performances in years: decked out in a leather-and-sheer fabric unitard, she shimmied around the stage as back-up dancers sporting skater gear moved around her. Azalea, meanwhile, held her own, reprising her role as some sort of alien figure in a silver space-age get-up. As for whether or not the two were lip-syncing their hit—doesn’t it even really matter?
Earlier this week, the stylist for the music video spilled behind-the-scenes secrets from the video. Alejandra Hernandez says the cult ’80s movie Earth Girls Are Easy was the biggest inspiration for the duo’s look.
“That was our biggest influence and inspiration,” says Hernandez of the 1989 cult classic co-starring Jeff Goldblum, Jim Carrey and Damon Wayans. “That, to me, was the ’80s at its coolest.”

Britney Spears and Iggy NAIL BBMA Performance
This! This is the Britney Spears we know and love!
Spears killed it on the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, performing "Pretty Girls" with Iggy Azalea live at the Planet Hollywood AXIS Theater in Las Vegas -- aka the home of Spears' residency show, Piece of Me.
The pair kicked things off with an out of this world entrance before launching into a high-energy rendition of the song.
Dare we say this tops their Earth Girls Are Easy-inspired music video? Yep, definitely.
That bod! Those moves! (And just two weeks after that ankle injury!) You better werk, B!

Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea Launch Into Space For Debut ‘Pretty Girls’ Performance
Though Britney Spears will be closing up shop on her highly successful Las Vegas residency at the end of 2015 — making room for Jennifer Lopez — she proved during Sunday night’s Billboard Music Awards that she’s still got the performer’s spark left in her during a lively “Pretty Girls” duet with former Australian resident Iggy Azalea. After a charming if non-vital music video for the Invisible Men-produced song, the pair danced and mostly mimed their way through their appearance, which those in attendance at the awards claimed was pre-taped.

Britney Spears and Iggy perform Pretty Girls
Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears proved they're so much more than just "pretty girls" when they performed their new hit song for the first time at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas Sunday night.
From the moment they touched down on stage, the duo kept the crowd cheering with a fun, colorful performance of "Pretty Girls."
Spears, 33, was in her element and Azalea, 24, who's come under fire lately for her live performances, spit some pretty perfect verses.
A triumphant Spears took to her Instagram page after the performance to share a photo of herself posing with Azalea on stage.

Britney Spears and Her Dance Moves Killed It at the BBMAs
Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea did their first live performance of "Pretty Girls" at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, and it was, unsurprisingly, awesome. After getting beamed on to the stage via Star Trek transporters, they proceeded to have a big neon party complete with light-up bicycles, metallic leather, and for Britney, a sheer and patent leather jumpsuit. While it wasn't quite as off the wall as the "Pretty Girls" video, it was a welcome opportunity to watch Britney kill it with her dance moves, which have been in short supply the past few years (at least outside of her Vegas show). More Britney in 2015, please!
