Discussion: How do you feel about plastic surgery?

It's someone's choice to get plastic surgery. I'm in no position to judge them for it, just like none of you will be in any position to judge me when I'm getting plastic surgery.

It's their decision and choice not ours to make and judge. Besides, we live in a society in which looks matter more than personality.
Personally, If I had money, I would get my lazy eye fixed, a chin implant, a tip plasty and nose bumb shaved off, and perhaps some filler to highlight my cheekbone area.

I think that if you don't like something about you and you have the money, why not? I'll have my nose job in 3 months.

If someone has plastic surgery, that's awesome for them, but it doesn't affect me in any way. I don't know how some people can judge other people about what they do with their body, let alone even care

This!
It's the same as asking straight people to vote on whether gays should be allowed to get married. It doesn't concern anyone else except the people who are directly affected by it.
If you decide to go for it, I applaud you. If you're insecure about something enough for it to affect how you go on with your daily life, fix it. However, I do think when it becomes an addiction people should intervene (yes you can get addicted to plastic surgery)

I personally wouldn't consider any cosmetic surgeries for myself, but I don't have any problem with anybody doing any alterations to their body that they feel comfortable with.
That being said I obviously have my reservations regarding what I consider aesthetically pleasing and what not. There are health complications sometimes (that even lead to death), but that's a risk anyone who has these surgeries will have to accept.
Plus I have braces, and I think that's kind of cosmetic procedure.

But I personally think most of the time it doesn't look good and it's obvious you've had work done
I prefer a more natural look.....the results of plastic surgery can be quite tragic..

It just feels overly superficial to me. I'd rather focus on whats truly great about me rather than change my physical appearance like it's a hobby, because that's what it seems to turn into for so many.

It's interesting to see someone list down the things they'd do to themselves, I can't even analyze myself in that way.

It's up to each person what they want to do with themselves, and we have no right to judge. If someone wants to get surgery, then that's their choice, and absolutely none of our business. This counts whether it's a celebrity or a "normal" person.

I don't really have an opinion on it.
I'm neither for nor against it!
I might even vouch for some cosmetic surgery someday!

If it's necessary like Ashley Tisdale's nose, it's totally okay. I hate botox and these things.

Well my lazy eye has always been troublesome for me, and I feel my nose is big compared to my facial structure. The rest is just an addition. I always felt ugly from within. I used to be called names during my puberty peek like ugly, weird looking, and alien and having bad acne then with ungroomed eyebrows didn't help. Now I look better, but I still get rejected for friendship and potential relationship. I wonder if slight physical improvements would alter the way people would treat me. Perhaps I would be considered and taken with more respect and admiration.

It's really none of my business, but maybe you're looking for validation in the wrong areas, why should you have to change yourself to suit other people.

Actually I know that, and its ok. I always want to fit in. When I was younger I didn't care about being alone or on the blank side of things, now I just hate being lonely whether in relationships or friendships that I try to fit in. When I'm trying to be me or someone else, no one gets me right.

I feel that plastic surgery is a blessing for some, it really can make people look and feel better.
However it is often overused. I think two or three plastic surgeries in your life is too much. It makes you look fake and scary

I probably wouldn't do it to myself (k, maybe a minor rhinoplasty), but as long as the person looks like a human and not like a caricature, why not? A bit vain, but no one is perfect.

I have absolutely nothing against plastic surgery, not even when it's bad just because it's none of my business and sometimes I feel that some people look absolutely beautiful with it.
Lana, Hilary, Ashlee Simpson, Porcelain....

Maybe people want to do things to feel more comfortable with themselves instead of to please other people?
I know my lazy eye is something I would definitely correct at the drop of a hat, but because I want to, not because I worry what other people think about it.
