Can somebody explain? I'm sure I read that Australia are taking part this year for some special reason but that it's just a one off. Well what if they win? They can't host it next year if this is a one off.
My thoughts on the rehearsals we've seen thus far:
Semi 1 Fantastic:
Russia (still don't think it'll win, but a very strong performance indeed)
Belgium (I think this could flop but it'd be a travesty, because this song and performance is amazing)
Georgia (slay me)
Romania (really beautiful)
Good:
Armenia (a pleasant surprise)
Moldova (I actually love the song and the performance, so Eurovision-tacky)
Estonia (I suspect this is like NL 2014 where the performance looks way better on tv)
Greece (they did everything they could + her dress is fab)
Meh:
Hungary (so boring)
Denmark (solid I guess but I still want to punch the singer)
Albania (a very meh performance for a song that truly needs an amazing performance to stand out)
Belarus (where did all the Belarusian props and gimmicks go?)
Mess:
The Netherlands (no comment)
Finland (please die)
Serbia (KKK meeting meets The Village People)
Macedonia (my #1 this year and they ****ed it up, I'm sad)
Semi 2 Fantastic:
Sweden (honestly, I'm bored of the performance by now, but for first-time viewers, it's going to walk all over the other entries)
Cyprus (exactly what this song needed - a simple and scaled down performance. Could be a huge surprise on Saturday)
Good:
Ireland (solid)
Lithuania (did what they could I guess)
Montenegro (expected)
Norway (looks great on tv apparently)
Czech Republic (I hope they qualify)
Israel (not exactly the best performance they could've pulled off, but good enough)
Poland (dat backdrop)
Meh:
Slovenia (such a huge fave and... a whole lot of nothing. I could see this flopping)
Malta (meh song, meh performance, meh result)
San Marino (not a car crash at all imo, but not really good either)
Mess:
Azerbaijan (yeah no)
Iceland (please don't)
Portugal (I still don't think there's a song in this entry)
Latvia (noise)
Switzerland (THE WORST ENTRY OF ALL TIME JESUS CHRIST I HATE THIS)
Italy's rehearsal... I'm PUKING! So damn tacky and old-fashioned. Omg. Thank god I'm half-Austrian and I can claim to be from our nearby, more modern country.
I just hate the fact that the country I live in is represented by the stereotypical short, fat, hairy, mandolin-playing guys who look 20 year older than they are. I'd rather have Sweden's basic ass song winning than Italy!
