LMAO, i turned 18 in December and i dont finish High School until next year. Then i plan on keep studying, so im not moving anytime soon

What's the real point of moving out just because you turn 18? Most of the time its realistically not an option for teenagers who are still in High School at the time. This is all just an old school mentality, and age is just a number.

Hell even @ 20 yrs old

Im in school,but im not living on campus.

Minimum wage aint doing iT until I finish school and actually have a stable career.

Now If I was dating someone,then we could probably put our money together to sustain an independent life away from our parents(or atleast as a fully fledged adult)



I think the important thing to do is finish school guys,and if post secondary education isn't for you,work as much as you can and start saving up,because if you rush to move out on your own as fresh meat,you'll be right back with your parents in a couple of months. Hell it's still a lot of stuff i don't know how to do yet on my own and that im going to need help with when i do leave the nest for good.

why the hell should I move out if I love my home and don't need to pay rent for it? What is this mentality of leaving your parents for the sake of it? They're getting old and I'd need to take care of them and not let them decay in loneliness. I don't think I'm ever moving out. I have my own space at home and they just let me live.

I pay rent to my parents too, since I am 18 when I got full time-part time job. And now while having full time job, and have to work extra hours to pay off my line of credit which I spenTTTT the majority for my vacation right out of highschool and I am going to be 20 in 5 months, I am not financially ready yet. Even if I dont have the debt to pay, when I calculated the cost of living when living by yourself, it's really not that easy ya'll. I'd still live with in my parent's' house as long as they give me the privacy, freedom and courteousness that I deserve.

I don't see the big deal as long as you have a job or going to school. 22 is the cut off imo

gimme a hug hun. IDK, but sometimes even if our parents aren't THAT PERFECT, we still love them and sadly as we age, we just then started appreciating them...

Honestly here in South Africa most people live with their parents up until I'd say around 25/26 sometimes.

It's nothing new here and it makes sense to me at least, for example I'm 22, doing my honours now that my parents have paid for and I'm not working so they pay for my fuel and food. In about 3 years I'll be at an ok salary and hopefully some savings. Then I will move out. Simple as that.

No debts by the time I was 21, no debts at 25. It's just a healthier model to me. Unlike Americans and their love for debt etc.

moved out when i was 17. been almost a decade.

I don't get the big deal about leaving the house just cause you're 18, there's no valid reason, Im staying put until I get married or forever

I moved out (parents still support me though ) at age 21 to live with my boyfriend. Once I graduate in the summer I wanna hopefully move out and be financially dependent on my own.
