Why do I live in a land where a horrid beat and moronic lyrics (a) make a song and (b) make it a "well-deserved" #1 song of the year?

My favorite part is when someone bashes the song. THE MOMENT someone bashes BBP, the fans come out of the woods and say that we're just jealous that they're more successful than "our favs". Give me a break.
Honestly, its success is amazing, and I'm not going to take that away from them, but I'd be lying if I said the song doesn't make me want to pierce my eardrums with a sharp knife. Still, it's not even the most moronic song they've ever released.

Hey, like I keep saying, I'm convinced that the song is going to be #1 forever, at this point. I'm talking "breaking the #1 record" forever.
EDIT: I'm not dissing its success and I'm not really dissing BEP. I've heard their new album is actually pretty good, other than BBP. Thanks for the failed attempt to get me angry, though.
I'm happy for BEP, they deserved such a big hit a long time ago. Still, it doesn't make BBP a well-deserved #1 song. Its success is unquestionable, but the song is simply not that good. More like that other way around.
I love it. Doesn't get old to me.
