have you ever taught english abroad? would you or are you going to do it?
I decided that once I'm done my university bachelors program I'd go teach english in japan for a year : )
all you need is a bachelors degree (in ANY subject.) and a language certificate (it has a specific name I just forgot).
most of the time you don't need to speak ANY japanese and most of the time you don't need any work experience at all let alone any teaching experience.

its a fun thing to do and they usually pay between 2500 to 3000 dollars a month. which is ok-ish for a job right after you graduate.

also im thinking of vlogging and posting it on youtube. apparently its a fun and popular thing to do if you teach in japan.

(i've still got a long way to go before im done uni lol )

In Japan they pay around 2500 to 3000 and the price can go up. its an ok-ish job. its not something i'd do as a life long career but i'd love it as a 1 year job/travel experience

Korea is also a good option for anyone who wants to do it. And from a U.S. perspective very affordable.

oh yes South Korea is fantastic too!do you know how much they pay monthly in us/can dollars?

latin america is nice too although I heard ppl complain about pay. apparently they can sometimes just decide not to pay you for like an entire month and it can become super complicated to file a report etc.
I hope those ppl were just exaggerating. I know Argentina, Chili etc are really good with job rights etc.

i know there are a ton of "foreigners" there! is it a fun place to be? like Japan and South Korea?

yes it is! and they offer part time too! you can work anywhere from 2 to 4 short shifts a week as part time or you can opt to be full time which is only 6 hours of work a day lol! with weekend off and sometimes a day out of the week off if you are teaching little kids!

One of my friends does it. He's currently teaching somewhere in Japan.

My boyfriend's goal is to do this in the next few years. He's getting his TESL certification in a couple of months. I'm not sure where we'll go, though. Europe would be so ideal.

How can you teach English in Japan if you can't speak Japanese? I'm confused.

It sounds like fun. I'd like to teach English in Latin America for a year after graduating.

lol but for real apparently its really simple and they give you a text book to follow. like everything is organized. you just need to make whats in the text book fun for the kids!

most of the kids you'd be teaching in japan are in private schools and already have a basic knowledge of the language. the school encourages the teachers to only speak to the kids in english. they want the kids to get used to only hearing english around them and sort of finding out what a word means a long the way instead of just memorizing. if that makes any sense lol :S

not sure if i'd want to go to japan. maybe south korea?
