Raven: "Harriet Tubman Shouldn't be on the $20 Bill"
“No offense to everyone who’s going to be mad at me for saying this, I don’t like that idea,” Raven said on The View, regarding the Harriet Tubman decision. “I don’t like it. I think we need to move a little bit more forward. I understand, let me just preface, I understand the history, I was taught. I’m in that culture. There’s also Rosa Parks, Eleanor Roosevelt…and I personally would’ve chosen Rosa Parks.”
“I would’ve chosen someone who is closer to the progression that we’re doing now, and I know you have to understand history so you don’t repeat it, but that doesn’t really happen in our world because we still repeat history of hating other cultures over and over again,” she explained. “I would’ve chosen a different one, no offense.”
i cant ****ing stand this stupid bitch and her nu black ideologies. i'm never watching thats so raven again.
if hariet tubman shouldn't be on the bill bc "we need to move a little bit more forward" then all those white guys(who were save owners) shouldn't be on there either.
No, no, no. This is not right. You should be PROUD of any black [females] that may be able to grace an official currency. This is our history, Raven. You need to be embrace every single person that has helped lead us this far.
I don't understand how Rosa Parks did more than Harriet Tubman. Not saying what Rosa did is not important because it is, symbolically, but Harriet saved so many lives. Why would Raven say this? Why would she defend the guy who said racist things about Michelle Obama too? Why is she saying all this stuff? I don't understand her, I really don't.
She didn't say anything bad? She just said she'd want Rosa Parks lol.
The whole petition is pretty stupid though.
How is it stupid? Women and minorities need to be represented on currency, it's a way to show our appreciation of what they did for the people of this country.
Harriett Tubman died in 1913. Andrew Jackson died in 1845.
Harriett Tubman laid the foundation for so much of the current civil rights movement and I feel like she has no idea how much she did after the Underground Railroad.

Being represented is fine, but creating a petition for something that js definitely not going to happen is just silly.
