“I’m just going to say it wasn’t a match on a lot of levels,” the 47-year-old television personality said about Kathy. “My biggest complaint was the feeling that she kind of sh*t all over my mother’s legacy in her statement on leaving. And I know that that was not an intentional reading of it, but that’s how I felt. But I know that wasn’t how it was intended.”
“Everything was so heightened and everybody was so crazy, but that was my takeaway by [Griffin] calling the comedy and the style of it old-fashioned,” Melissa added. “I understand what you’re doing — you’re trying to save yourself, but don’t crap all over my mother to do it, and that’s how I felt. They took the last thing I had and smashed it.”
Oh damn!! Fighting worlds, but TBH, I can understand why she feels the way.
Joan was the essence of the show, and many of the elements Kathy criticized were the very things Joan brought to the table. I remember thinking that when I read her statement and finding it odd how on one hand she was making these critiques, but still praising Joan's legacy.
I personally thought she was a good match, but the only episode I saw was the Zendaya episode and we all know how that controversy left things in shambles.
she's acting like her mother did some profound work on Fashion Police or something
not gonna try and argue Joan's legacy as a whole, but Fashion Police is literally nothing but making desperate / ugly / tacky jokes about celebrity's style when most of them dress worse than the people they're commentating on. The show wasn't for Kathy and she didn't know that until she was thrown into it, let her live and let ya mama RIP... never really cared for anything Rivers related tbh
Eh, i mean I get what shes saying I guess but that show was dead. It had felt dead for awhile anyway. At that point its like who cares how Kathy handled it.
I mean her saying "that's just how I feel" a thousand times actually tells us we should not take it so seriously. I get why she might feel that way but it's a personal thing. She's Joans daughter. She in fact did not SLAM Kathy. She juzst voiced how she feels from her very personal (and soltude) point of view.
