Black Keys recent era single sales to album sales ratio in U.S. isn't 20:1
Ariana has sold about 1.1 million albums and at best 15 million singles. How on earth does that equal to 20:1? You're reaching to Infinity and Beyond sis. Ariana's albums are doing fine in comparison to her peers. They're not SMASHING but they're hardly flopping.
Her career actually reminds me a lot of Rihanna's career and I think this album is her A Girl Like Me and her next album will be her Good Girl Gone Bad and be a big commercial success for her. I know people joke about this all the time, but "The Way" was kind of like her "Pon de Repaly" and "Problem" was kind of like her "Sos," so I'm expecting her next single to be her "Umbrella" and her next album to be her Good Girl Gone Bad.

The real mystery is how come her singles always climb all the way up to the top 15 of the Hot 100 while they're stuck in the mid 40s on the iTunes chart. One Last Time was literally a non factor and it still was a "moderate hit".
There are artists like Lana that sell albums without having hits but that doesn't necessarily mean that a hit single would cause her album sales to increase.

That adds up to 7 million (Jessie J features not included), with a ratio I'll round up to 12:1. But hey, if you want to say she's a singles artist, it's cool. At least she's selling something

Payola much?
People do not understand payola on this site You can't guess someone has payola because songs with payola can perform any type of way.
She has incredibly strong streaming and she has a streak of radio hits going giving her era momentum. On top of that, her album sales would be considered a success by today's standards.
It's not surprising that radio has backed her like it has.

She's a LEAD artist on Bang Bang, it's on HER album, and Billboard/Soundscan count the song as hers for TEA+SEA equivalent totals. Therefore Bang Bang's 3M counts. Sorry Billboard, Soundscan, her tracklisting, and artist listing > a delusional stan trying to make her look like she isn't a singles artist.
That's 10M, not including any album track sales or the remaining total that OLT will sell. Which is a 16.67:1 ratio; rounded to 17:1.
Anyone selling 17x more singles than albums is a singles artist. No excuses.
You can't guess someone has payola because songs with payola can perform any type of way.
