Actually, all that quote says is that there will be more Christians in China than in any other individual country - it may not necessarily be the largest portion of people in the country even then.

Not sure whether this is good or bad, depends on how people use religion. However in China like in Russia religious people used to be oppressed in the 20th century, so it makes sense that people are now using their right to have a faith

Always happens in developing countries. Same thing is happening in Africa.

China's antireligion policy which it enforced throughout the decades is a failure considering that Chinese people are indoctrinated with atheism from kindergarten to college. China is not a majority-atheist country contrary to what a few reports say. Not even a quarter of the population is real atheists. Most people are practicing village religions as it doesn't receive much pressure as did organized religions from the government. But the gov't has become lenient on its policy against religion hence the growth of organized religions.

I read this in The Economist. Religion was banned but now it's coming back in a big way. They are building big churches and the commie government banned crosses on roofs.
