Ok, I'll let the obvious jokes go cuz really why bother but what does a persons intelligence has to do with the quality of the music released. I don't get it. Would Amys music be any less magical or any worse in quality even if she didn't know how much 2+2 was?

The main thing I stan for is personality - the music can be GREAT but I can't stan if they're a dummy. It's whether or not I can connect with a musician on a personal-type level. After that, the music only helps. None of my faves have that terrible of music, IMO, and the parts that ARE terrible are easily ignored for me.

I like a lot of artists that I could never stan for because of their personality. It's just how I operate.

This song kinda goes against everything I stand for The biggest scratch/flaw in her discography.

Let me tell you that is an odd way to operate. I mean I stan for the music of so many drug addicts (some are sometimes douchey) but only their music cuz I would never stan for them personally. It's also the reason why Godney is the only one of my faves I ever bring up. Personality is supposed to the bonus to great music not the other way around. But to each his own I guess

I dunno. I guess you could argue that good song structure and lyrics are signs of high intelligence - especially when most of the songs from Frank and Back to Black were written by only Amy herself. Even if the person that performs it isn't intelligent, they are the vessel and vehicle that translates the talent of producers and writers.

I don't really give a **** if my faves are intelligent or not though. I mean, for the most part, it has turned out that they are but as long as they keep delivering quality music I'll still be happy in some way.

Well, I would never stan for an artist with terrible music JUST because of their personality, though.
All my faves click w/me musically AND personality-wise. It has to be both for me to stan.
Kesha, M.I.A., Bjork, James Blake, etc. etc. are all well-spoken, aesthetically pleasant and easy for me to enjoy.
And they all have very intriguing personalities as well.

I can still enjoy an artist's music while hating them. I do like a handful of Katy Perry songs.
I also kiiiinda wanna KICK Lana Del Rey but I love her music (even though I've tried endlessly not to).

Grow A Pear is cute until you actually pay attention to the lyrics, and it's like "Oh...".

This happens to me. A good example of an artist where this is the case for me is P!nk.
