Material wise Ciara, commercially right now it's Tinashe, based on pity and a young death people say Aaliyah though her sales and critical reception never backed that up

Considering Aaliyah's last album before her death was more acclaimed than anything Ciara has put out. ...

Tinashe has not had any major commercial success, and Ciara is an afterthought. Regardless of her death, Aaliyah would win based on what she left us, which has been way more impactful than anything Ciara has made in her 11 year career.

Aaliyah's first 2 albums are 3x platinum in the US and sold 6-7 million copies ww without international promo.

As for acclaim, check how many year-end and even decade-end lists her self-titled album made.

Her album sales are on par with her peers which is great since her music wasn't commercial and her albums and singles have made plenty of greatest list.

Her first two albums are undercertified in the US, not to mention the fact that apart from AANBAN her albums are out of print and aren't even available on iTunes.

And for anybody wondering why a lot of her singles didn't chart, her label didn't release singles physically. She got #1 with Try Again based solely on airplay, and with proper releases Are You That Somebody and Miss You probably would've went #1 too.

But I really love Tinashe, too.

As much as Tinashe is incredible she should not be discussed in the middle of big names, she's just starting. Tinashe, Kehlani, Kelela, Jhené, you know, these newcomers, are the future and we should all support them.

Aaliyah has more impact musical-wise than Ciara has. I mean, look at how many people has sampled, praised, enlisted her as an influence... But Ciara is a big name on R&B and should be not discredited, she's an incredible performer, singer, dancer...

So why not have two princesses, instead of just one?
