this is only for people on ATRL I wasn't on ATRL at the time, I was very active on GGD and Billboard and it seemed that everyday we got a new Gaga appearance from the USA to UK to Australia, Japan etc. all the shows and performances that she attended/did ..... And the album was selling like a hot bread for months and months...

People on ATRL are only interested in BS that no one outside ATRL cares for. The only real scandal during BTW was Judas and the Madonna comparison, but that was only with the lead single

ive been a fan of her since the fame but born this way is when i really started keeping up with everything she does the era was everything we had something new every day the performances all were great the fashion the mugler show was everything the magazine covers it was everything i wanted from gaga except i wish i went to the btw ball & i feel like one of the reasons ARTPOP flopped was bcz the btw era & music was so good and its hard to top that

Loved her as much as I do now. The BTW era was so incredible, so many things to keep up with

I remember stuff like the "Edge of Glory" video being panned, the "Marry The Night" video being too long and the song flopping hard + the cancellation of the tour before it ended was the last straw for many.

Regardless of ATRL and other musical websites focus on negativity, all of this crossed over to the GP (I hate using that term, who is the GP anyway?) with the sensation the Gaga machine had gone overboard and with people wondering what the h*ll she was doing. As I've already said, it laid the foundation for the hostility she faced during ARTPOP.

I was confused. I liked one half of the album and couldn't really enjoy the other one.

Made me love her even more.

Born this Way is the album of my life tbh. So many memories. So many listens. Iconic.

I stanned for Gaga since the beginning so everything after her debut I've enjoyed so far.

I was a proper stan when the era began. I bought BTW and Judas as soon as they were released, I *****d BTW so much in the car and in my room, I had tickets to the BTWB and everything. Saying that, I don't know what it was but I just grew a little bit tired of her as the era went on. Whether it was an obsession (I was a Twitter Monster and everything) that just burnt itself out but by the time I actually went to see her live, I was a little bit over her. I still listen to the album and enjoy it but I just.. I don't know what happened but I suppose I fell out of love with her.

My biggest reaction was "If Born This Way (which I still consider her weakest single ) reached number 1 then other songs should have too". The Edge Of Glory especially

nnn my best friends were SO sick of me listening to BTW ALL day long while hanging at my place that they went from playing her music in their cars to actually threatening me that they'll leave if I listen to BTW one more time, and they did leave lol. (happened only once but still)

She was very overexposed during the BTW era and Monsters only made matters worse with that attitude.

Musically sure. Fashion-wise I don't agree but I see where you're coming from, Judas and MTN era were flawfree. Videography though? BTW & TEOG videos (the only hits from the album) were absolute crap.

The hype. Too much hype around the era.

1. Album of the decade. Umm no. Was one of her worst.
2. The tour. It was supposed to be the best tour, at least the year... But not. Was canceled and underperforming.
3. The thing about using the gays for and with promo.
4. The fan base itself. They became so annoyed with slay the industry and nothing was that way. In their own terms BTW was a flop era and Gaga puts herself out of competition.

I STANNED HARD

She was truly ahead of her time with the BTW era.This album campaign was huge and she really promoted it everywhere which was such a blessing as a stan. I mean the first week alone, she was plastered on NYC subways and on every billboard etc. Also the music was incredible, Scheiße and Hair deserved to be singles imo.

I stanned hard during the born this way era. I loved the message, the album, and her outfits and all the videos.
Then artpop came and everything changed...

1) Totally subjective.

2) How is grossing $185m with less than 100 shows resulting in a 1.9m/show average an underperformance for an artist 3-4 years in the business? It was also an amazing show, but again subjective.

3) She didn't use the gays. She had no need to use anyone for promo coming off of TFM era. If anything the gay theme of the album hurt her image & success.

BTWBall was amazing. Her live performances were so on point as always.
The quaility of that album is perfect.
But she was trying too hard and using gays again and again. She did so many boring and pretentious long speech during that era made people feel annoying and embarrassing.

Born This Way as an era has aged so well. The album, the aesthetics, everything. It was so over the top back then but especially after ARTPOP I think we all sort of miss how effortlessly she played with everything.

1) Not subjective. The critical reception was not so high like TFM. No one consider BTW the album of the decade. Sorry but not.

2) For me was underperforming in her own terms. Gaga was in her peak of fame, all over the world. And the show was disappointed in acclaim and success. And you know it's true. I mean, with the fight again madonna, everyone say that BTWBT would outsell than MDNA Tour. But it wasn't. MDNA was acclaimed the best tour that year and won in the attendance. Meanwhile BTWBTour was canceled.

With the BTW era, Gaga was supposed to be new Queen of Pop. But she couldn't prove her power and gone down, and down...
