It's a shame to think about, though. It means he's probably still in the same community as his rapist/his friends still associate with this man he never got justice against. That's the real issue here.

Well, it's a fair question, and obviously any investigator is going to ask that and many other questions.

You don't get raped by a nonviolent person, sis. If someone rapes you, it's pretty clear that they were going to overpower you one way or another.

So the police shouldn't ask any questions? I don't get it. If they see the alleged rapist has no visible injuries they will ask the victim if they fought or attacked him. It's an investigation.

Now they could also be asking because of some heteronormative masculine bias but that's not a given.

I'm not saying they're wrong for asking.

I'm saying that we can't just assume that it wasn't rape just because he didn't physically fight back. Not giving consent is what defines rape, after all.
