Ummm you can't really tell TBQH. Many gays in Chelsea enjoy low income housing it's just not in a building declared a "project". Those people not in low income housing are in rent controlled buildings have have been in many cases unlawfully subleased to them so someone in another state/country can make bank off their NYC apartment. So don't get it twisted many of the people you think are upstanding citizens are people who are facilitating and committing fraud while authorities look the other way. Low income and rent controlled housing is for people who actually need it. It's not for someone who can already afford their own place take up.

Gay doesn't involve actions in and of itself. What would you classify as actions? Many people who were gay bashed weren't even gay or committing an act that could reasonably lead one to make the assumption that someone was gay.

You could argue the racism against POC thing is based on the actions of POC people against one another and society at large. This case is a classic example.

Being black and being gay are states of being.

Racism and homophobia are no different because actions of each group have been used as a reason for the treatment they get. Which one is worse the one who is committing violent crimes or the one who is simply living their life and existing at all?

I think personally, Dallas BBQ should've had police officers on staff to manage the riff raff. They know they cater to an unsavory element and have had fights breaking out there before. I think they should be held accountable for what happened...because they didn't even do the minimum to protect the patrons. Just by having cops around they probably could've probably avoided the violent confrontation or at the very least arrested the guy on the spot.

Honestly, the three times that I've experienced homophobia for holding hands with my bf or showing affection (not kissing and such) was from black people. I don't get why black atrlers keep saying "dont generize" and stuff while seeing them admitting in those coming out threads that their families would kill them If they came out or how hard it is being gay in the black community. It is what it is.

I live in the south of America in Mississippi. If I walked into a red neck bar with my boyfriend I'd get heckled and maybe even threatened to be shot and killed for being both gay and black.

I guess that's enough proof that all white people are homophobic racist. Probably even more than any other group. Nah it has nothing to do with the individual at all.

!!! I mean, if you're gonna use certain experiences to back up some ridiculous claim then maybe you have some things you need to work on.

Also there are plenty of cases of whites who attack LGBTs of color or otherwise.

The attackers were a group of whites and it was only "shocking" because of how they looked and how they dressed.
Thankfully they were identified and lost their jobs.

The whole conversation about who is more homophobic is stale and it has been a merry go-round of myth-pushing. Even GLAAD used Kerry Washington to discuss homophobia in the black community like it's somehow exclusive.

Both should be coming together and it is ironic how I often see the complaint that blacks should help but they are instantly labeled as a homophobic like they are a hivemind.

There are plenty of tolerant blacks out there so focus on getting those as allies instead of pushing them away.
