Praising Janet's decorated-boobie-wearing-self for being classy but not okay with Beyoncé wearing leotards to dance on stage in? Has she ever heard of ballet? Most people consider ballet classy and they are wearing nothing on their legs as well.
i HATE the word "classy" . It implies that people who wear provocative clothing are inferior
THIS.
Class doesn't exist. It was made up by those in power in order to be able to control the masses, make those lower than them respect them and feel inferior in order to maintain power.
And while Beyoncé does show her body and that is generally not considered classy, the definition of classy is "stylish and sophisticated". I'd say she usually looks this until she's dressed really casually for a look. Generally she's wearing Givenchy (one of the most stylish brands EVER) or something else and has style.. sooo....
I understand Ravens concerns. But there are only few artists out there that can entertain an audience without fireworks and smoke and lighting and dancers and sex and nudity. Only few can fill a stadium with just their angelic voice and a classy sun dress.
Isn't feminism supposed to encourage women to say anything they want including comments like this? lol the irony
That may be true in some ways, but if the things she is saying is antifeminist then what's your point?
Like a women should have the right to speak her mind today, yes, but if she's saying "WOMEN SHOULD GET PAID LESS THAN MEN!" is she still flexing feminism?
The hilarious thing is that Beyoncé's is very sexual and yet her fanbase who buy her singles, albums, tour tickets, merchandise, vegan meal plans, etc. are predominately gay men and straight women. When was the last time a straight man was like to his friends "Yo dude let's go see Beyoncé in concert. She's so hot and I heard she wears a nipple bodysuit."
NO.
Beyoncé's sexuality is part of her visuals but they are not the selling point. Ask anyone at her concert and I bet no one would say the reason they are there is because they wanted to see her legs in person. She could wear whatever as long as she slays, her fans are happy. We need to stop acting like the body being shown is some travesty.
Honestly I really really just hate her. What purpose does she serve? Ugly, obnoxious, untalented, judgmental, nasty, rude, unintelligent and styled like a piece of ****.
But seriously tho you can't expect everyone to suck on your fave's ****
Personally, I'm here talking about this because it's Beyoncé but also because I care about this issue. Maybe I care more about feminism than I would because I'm a Beyoncé fan, but I do actually care about it. So this has nothing to do with Raven not bowing down, it has to do with Raven being ignorant and not even fully understanding what she's saying.
But I guess I can't blame her. We've all seen that video where she attempts basic geography.
OMG look at these ho's!
Like can't they wear pants?
Don't have they respect for their bodies?
We don't want to see that.
Stop making us see that.
Have some class.

People seem more bothered by the idea that someone said something negative about Bey regardless of what that statement might be, she could be completely right and people would still drag her.

Well, she isn't ...and if Raven's words are bible then Christina and Shakira are "trashy" too Or does it only apply to Bey?

So you're admitting she's wrong?
You could say what the Hive would or wouldn't do based on your assumptions but this conversation is about Raven's comments and it seems you believe she's wrong after all.
