there seems to be a large gap between a certain group of urban girls (ciara, kelly rowland, tinashe, etc.) and the sales of their more famous urban girl peers. they're also farther behind their rap contemporaries.
without a radio hit AND a strong celebrity presence, i think these urban girl sales will continue to fall. being a star is a full-time job... that means keeping yourself famous AND making good music AND making songs that radio will play.
like, i feel like karreuche could release an album next week and sell more than this. because the urban community is actually interested in her messiness. i don't think ciara lacks an IT factor so i think it has to be that people aren't super interested in HER as a person. i feel like people enjoyed her relationship with future and her new relationship with russell is getting buzz, but people don't care about her as an individual. idk why because she's sweet, cute, and pretty
this is so sad. maybe she should just release mixtapes...
