A lot of ex-Directioners love him so I can't see him flopping tbh...
I'm sure he'll ride the wave of controversy into the charts for a while, but when his major appeal is to a similar demographic to 1D fans, this was a silly move to make.
As if the Directioners will stay true to the remaining band when they will flop into oblivion in 2 years. I don't want this kind of fickle fanbase for Zayn. Good riddance.

But that's the thing though, his major appeal isn't to these prepubescent kids... especially with his "new" look i.e. the whole "mystery" thing he has going on. Non-Directioners have been stanning for him (and Harry to a lesser extent) for ages so he definitely has a market!

I can't think of anyone else he could appeal to
I guess he is much more irrelevant in the UK than he is elsewhere. Even him leaving the band didn't get much coverage here
@ y'all thinking these fans jumping ship will affect the outcome of his solo career whether or not it's a success They hold no power. 1D's last album isn't even platinum in the US yet
